Faster and cheaper: Ethernet7 corresponds to the well-known industry standard «Carrier Ethernet Service» (CES) with Switzerland-wide availability.
Ethernet7 is equally interesting for companies and institutions with several networked locations as well as for wholesale partners who need a reliable network partner for their business end customers. The layer-2 transport of Ethernet7 can be imagined as a simple Ethernet LAN, whereby the connections can be distributed throughout Switzerland.
Ethernet7 is compatible with the Metro Ethernet Forum MEF standard. EVPN-VXLAN technology from Cisco and FTTH P2P (Point-to-Point) fiber optics are used for the last mile.
The connection between the Init7 infrastructure and the partner is made via NNI (Network-Network-Interconnect). NNIs are possible in more than 50 different carrier-neutral data centers in Switzerland and Europe.
Currently ~2 million FTTH locations are accessible (as of August 2024). Ethernet7 benefits from the rapid expansion of fiber optics in Switzerland. This is documented on a daily basis on our FTTH-Map. Ethernet7 is available wherever Fiber7 is available. Check addresses or OTO IDs with our fiber optic check!
