Our Fiber7 services are activated on existing fibre networks. This means that we must have a contract with the network operator, the cooperation partner or a fibre association in order to be able to activate a service. In addition, we must be present with our hardware at the corresponding point of presence (PoP).
The connection between the Fiber7 PoP in the exchange and the Fiber7 customers is based on gigabit Ethernet. It is a dedicated point-to-point connection; this means that each Fiber7 customer gets his/her «own gigabit». Other FTTH technologies, especially abroad, are based on XGS-PON, where several customers share the available bandwidth. XGS-PON does not apply for Fiber7.
