What do I need to consider when ordering and installing my copper connection?

Depending on the location and circumstances, the installation and commissioning of a copper connection can involve some special features.

Various factors play a role here, such as the information on the line predecessor, possible information from the property management or the technical status of your location.

The line predecessor: In many cases, it is stored which customer was connected to which terminal on a flush-mounted box. This information is stored in a central register at Swisscom. This is why we ask for the line predecessor in our order form. With this information, the right terminal can be selected fairly accurately. By the way: If you change providers, you are your own line predecessor.

The property management: In some cases, you can ask the property management whether the information about which terminal belongs to which flat is stored somewhere. If this information is available, you can indicate this when ordering.

Pre-order: Some locations have already been equipped with the latest technology by Swisscom and would therefore be virtually ready for fibre optics. At these locations, the router can automatically establish an active connection from the telephone socket to the Internet (more or less). Unfortunately, you have no control over whether your own home already has access to this option.

Please also note: In some cases, the assistance of an electrician may be required to commission our subscriptions via copper. These costs are not covered by Init7.

It is important to consider these aspects at an early stage to ensure a smooth installation and utilisation.
